A robot is a programmable machine, sometimes with a partially human appearance, capable of performing complex tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously and interacting with the physical world. On the other hand, artificial intelligence is the science dedicated to developing programs that enable computers to behave intelligently. Robotics and artificial intelligence have been intimately linked as disciplines of knowledge since their inception. Their conjunction, robotics intelligence, comprises all those artificial intelligence techniques that allow a robotic system to perceive its environment, make decisions, plan, communicate, interact, and perform actions intelligently.
