Bachelor of Midwifery (HLB001.2)
The Bachelor of Midwifery is an innovative degree that allows students to make a difference in the lives of women and their families. Upon completion of this three-year full-time or five-year part-time degree, students will play a vital role in building strong communities as creative and socially valuable midwives.
About this Course
The degree accepts a small cohort of students each year, allowing for a highly flexible and personalised learning experience. Students will develop a strong bond with their fellow midwifery students and engage in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities in various practice areas, starting early in their first year of full-time study.

English Language Requirements
To be eligible, candidates must demonstrate English language proficiency via one of the following:
- Academic IELTS score of 7.0 overall with a minimum score of 7 in listening, reading, and speaking and a minimum score of 6.5 in writing
- OET grade of B with a minimum score of B in listening, reading, and speaking and a minimum score of C+ in writing
- TOEFL iBT with an overall score of 94 with a minimum score of 24 in listening, reading, and writing and 23 in speaking
- PTE Academic score of 66 overall with a minimum score of 66 in listening, reading, and speaking and a minimum score of 56 in writing

- Practising evidence-based woman-centred care across the continuum from community to hospital and from rural to metropolitan
- Optimising biological, psychological, social, and cultural processes to create opportunities for women to experience a salutogenic pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting experience
- Embracing Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing to practice midwifery in a culturally safe manner for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, families, and their communities
- Providing holistic, individualised, and culturally safe midwifery care to all women of diversity and their families
- Consulting with, making referrals to, and working collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team when the needs of women and/or their children become complex
- Demonstrating sound judgements and ethical decision-making based on the best available evidence, reasoning, and reflection

This course is accredited with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Graduates are eligible to apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and practice as a midwife.
