Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) & Foreign Language Teaching (FLT)

The Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Foreign Language Teaching (FLT) prepares students for a career in a wide range of professional contexts and leadership positions in Australia and internationally. This includes teaching English to speakers of other languages or a foreign language.


About this Course

The course integrates practical and theoretical issues, including teaching methodology, linguistics for language teachers, language acquisition, language and social context, language testing and assessment, curriculum design and evaluation, discourse studies, oral communication, and teaching practice. It prepares students for their future work at the interface of theory, research, and practice.


Admission Requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed Hanoi University's Graduate Diploma in TESOL, or its equivalent. Additional requirements for entry to compulsory practice units may apply depending on circumstances. There are no assumed knowledge requirements for this course.

The Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) & Foreign Language Teaching (FLT) requires 48 credit points. Students must pass 39 credit points of required units, 6 credit points of open electives, and 3 credit points from a restricted choice of units.

Typical Study Pattern
