Introduction to UC Connect

UC Connect is a pathways program designed to bridge the gap between current academic qualifications and the entry requirements of the desired course. This bridging program helps students gain access to a university education, even if they have recently missed out on a university place due to not meeting the required ATAR.

About this Course

UC Connect is a Commonwealth Supported program, meaning there are no course fees for students. However, students are required to pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). The program is offered at the University of Canberra College, Bruce, ACT, and has a duration of 0.5 years.

Admission Requirements

Admission to this course is based on an entrance rank, which can be achieved through:

• Year 12 ATAR
• Other Australian qualification (or equivalent) If applicants do not have any of the above qualifications, successful completion of an Australian Year 12 with the following will be considered:
• ACT: Minimum of 3 C's
• NSW: Minimum of 3 Band 3's Additional admission requirements include:

1. Aged between 17-20 years
2. Completed secondary education (Year 12) in the last two years
3. Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

The course is open for new admissions in the following periods:

• 2026: Semester 1 and Semester 2
• 2027: Semester 1 and Semester 2

Credit Arrangements

There are currently no formal credit transfer arrangements for entry to this course. Any previous study or work experience will only be considered as part of the application process in accordance with current course rules and university policy.

Prior Work and Study Recognition

The University of Canberra recognizes the value of experience. Students can unlock course credit or even get direct entry into a postgraduate degree.

• Humanities (11911): 3 credit points, Level 1
• Analytical Methods (11912): 3 credit points, Level 1
• Academic Techniques (11913): 3 credit points, Level 1
• Digital Literacy Project (11914): 3 credit points, Level 1

  4. Apply numeracy, problem-solving methods, and information literacy to analyze and interpret data and information in an academic context.
  5. Recognize local and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and western knowledge systems, and how this influences learning experiences.
