Introduction to the Anatomic Pathology Residency Program
The Anatomic Pathology Residency program at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine provides comprehensive training aimed at achieving board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
Program Overview
Residents will collaborate with a diverse board-certified faculty team, including five anatomic pathologists and four clinical pathologists. Through hands-on training using CVDL submissions, residents are exposed to case material covering dogs, cats, horses, and small ruminants, along with some zoo and exotic animals.
Program Structure
- Residents engage in weekly gross and microscopic pathology rounds, clinical pathology rounds, and specialized review sessions.
- Residents present at regional and national meetings, teach fourth-year veterinary students, and have opportunities to conduct small research projects aimed at peer-reviewed publication.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a D.V.M. or equivalent degree, and submit:

Program Details
- Appointments are for 12 months, with annual renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance.
