Introduction to the Course

The course involves cycling through the historic city of Kyoto, aiming to improve physical fitness while stimulating intellectual curiosity by visiting different destinations each week.


Course Content

The 90-minute class involves cycling a distance that can be covered without strain, with the distance gradually increased as students become more accustomed to it. The course also includes historical and cultural insights, as well as information about cycling as a mode of transportation.

Cycling is a multi-task exercise that requires cognitive function, balance, and physical effort, with numerous benefits for individuals and society, including improved physical fitness, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and enhanced traffic safety awareness.

  • Students recommended to take this course: 1st year students (Agriculture 1-4, 6-8, Integrated Human Studies 1-3, Letters 1-6, Science), 2nd year students or above
