Program Overview
Program Overview
The International Course was established in April 2011 at the Department of Civil and Earth Engineering, Kyoto University. The primary objective of this course is to foster international engineers, and all classes are conducted in English to accommodate students from diverse nationalities. The curriculum is similar to the existing Civil Engineering Course, with a focus on developing professionals who can excel globally.
Admission Criteria
For international students, a separate special admission process is implemented to determine successful applicants. However, Japanese students who have passed the general selection or special admission process for the Department of Civil and Earth Engineering can also choose to enroll in the International Course after admission. This course is ideal for individuals who aspire to work in international social capital management, disaster prevention, and national land conservation in the future.
Course Structure
The Department of Civil and Earth Engineering offers four courses: the International Course, Civil Engineering Course, Environmental Engineering Course, and Resource Engineering Course. Course allocation for these programs occurs in the third year. The International Course provides English-language instruction for civil engineering-related classes, and only English-taught classes are recognized as necessary credits for graduation. Therefore, course allocation begins in the first year.
