Program Overview
Program Overview
The Department of Civil and Earth Engineering at Kyoto University established the International Course in April 2011. This course aims to cultivate human resources who can design and manage social infrastructure in the civil engineering field, considering global environmental issues in urban and surrounding areas. All lectures are conducted in English until graduation.
Program Features
- The International Course is the only English course in the undergraduate program at Kyoto University.
- Students receive education and support from experienced professors from Japan and abroad, as well as tutoring.
- By studying together with international students, Japanese students can broaden their perspectives and aim to become international leaders.
- Students can participate in international internships in their third year, which provides hands-on training in domestic and international civil engineering projects.
- After graduation, students can pursue further research by enrolling in the master's program at the Graduate School of Engineering, where they can take courses in English.
Post-Graduation Opportunities
Students who wish to continue their research after graduation can enroll in the master's program at the Graduate School of Engineering, where they can take courses in English. The program offers two specializations: Social Infrastructure Engineering and Urban Social Engineering.
Admission Criteria
- The program has a separate admission process for international students.
- Up to 10 students who have passed the general or special admission selection for the Department of Civil and Earth Engineering can also join the International Course.
