Magisterprogrammet i arbete och h鄟sa

The Master's Programme in Work and Health aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge of work environment and work-related health. After completing the programme, students can work in occupational health care or strategically with work environment issues in companies, authorities, research, or education.

About the Programme

A working life with good working conditions gives a generally improved public health, reduces work-related illness, and contributes to people being able to stay in working life until retirement age. The education provides students with knowledge and skills in work environment and work-related health, so that they can work in occupational health care or in organizations and authorities with activities focused on promoting health and working conditions, as well as preventing illness and exclusion from working life.


Specializations

The programme has three specializations:


  1. Arbetsmilj飉trateg (Occupational Safety and Health Management): This specialization further educates a broader group to become occupational safety and health managers. As an occupational safety and health manager, you work primarily with overall strategic work environment work within a company, authority, or occupational health care. The education has a deepening in systematic work environment work.
  2. Ergonomi (Ergonomics): This specialization further educates occupational therapists and physiotherapists/physical therapists to work strategically and comprehensively, both preventively and rehabilitatively, in work and health. Additionally, it includes a special deepening in ergonomic measurement technology and the connection between occupational exposure and the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders.
  3. F顤etagssk飆erska (Occupational Health Nursing): This specialization further educates nurses to work strategically and comprehensively, both preventively and rehabilitatively, with work and health. Additionally, it includes a special deepening in occupational medicine, medical checks, health promotion work, etc.

Admission Requirements

  • Arbetsmilj飉trateg: Bachelor's or professional degree of at least 180 credits in health and medical care, social work, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, or technology. Additionally, Swedish B/Swedish 3 and English A/English 6 with a minimum grade of Pass/E are required.
  • Ergonomi: Occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or physical therapist degree of 180 credits. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or physical therapy. Additionally, Swedish B/Swedish 3 and English A/English 6 with a minimum grade of Pass/E are required.
  • F顤etagssk飆erska: Nurse degree of 180 credits or bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Swedish B/Swedish 3 and English A/English 6 with a minimum grade of Pass/E are required.

Selection

The selection among eligible applicants is made through a comprehensive qualitative assessment. All applicants are asked to fill in the merit assessment form for the Master's Programme in Work and Health.


Fees

Application and tuition fees are required for applicants who do not have citizenship in the EU, EEA countries, or Switzerland.

After completing the education, you can work in occupational health care, both in the private and public sectors. You can also work in authorities, companies, and organizations that have responsibility for work environment and health issues. There are also opportunities to work in research and teaching.
