Programme Details

To be able to start studies at Karolinska Institutet (KI), students must first activate their student account and then register for the first course in the programme.

Activation of Student Account

An active student account is necessary for studies at KI. If this is the first time studying at KI, students must activate their account according to the instructions under the headline "Activation code" at the Student Account web page. The account must be activated before students can register for their course.

Registration for Courses

Once students have activated their student account, they must register for the first course of the programme they are admitted to. The registration is open between specific dates, and if students fail to register within this period, their study place will be considered declined and offered to a waitlisted applicant.

Declining Study Place

If students need to decline their study place, they should do so by logging in to their account and going to "My pages". If students decide to withdraw from their study place after the registration period has started, they should contact the programme officer.

Programme and Course Start

The autumn semester will start with a mandatory roll call. Attendance is compulsory on the first day, and if students do not attend the mandatory roll call, KI can decide to revoke the decision to admit them to the programme.

Introduction for New International Students

All new students on the KI Global Master's and Bachelor's Programmes are invited to introduction activities which will take place during the week prior to the study start. More information will be provided on the page for New students.

In Ladok, students can register for courses, print out study certificates, and apply for certificates for completed education. Information about the student administration system LADOK and registration for coming courses is available.
