Program Overview

Magisterprogrammet i klinisk optometri

Program Overview

The Magisterprogrammet i klinisk optometri has undergone certain changes, and the education plan 3OP08 is being replaced by 3OP24 as of HT24. Students who were admitted to the program according to 3OP08 are offered the opportunity to retake exams on their unfinished courses, with the goal of graduating according to 3OP08.

New Education Plan and Course Plans

As a result of the program changes, the program's courses have been revised and given new course codes. Students with remaining courses must always retake exams against the version (course code) of the course plan that applied when they took the course. Since the courses that belong to 3OP08 were given for the last time during the academic year HT23-VT24 and are then discontinued, a limited number of opportunities are offered to retake exams against these course plans.

Dates for Retake Exams

Students who have remaining courses in 3OP08 are offered to retake exams:

  1. In connection with the regular examination and regular retake exam opportunity, for the cohort that took the courses HT23-VT24 (i.e., the last time these courses were given).
  2. At four additional opportunities per course, two during HT24-VT25 and two during HT25-VT26. In total, six opportunities are given per course, within a period of three academic years.

Preparations for Retake Exams

Registration for Retake Exams

You must always register to be examined on an examination with a different cohort than your own. The last registration date is four weeks before the date of the retake exam. Registration is made by email to and should include the following information:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your personal identity number (if possible)
  • The name and course code of the course(s) and moment(s) you want to retake, e.g., "3OP009 Diagnostisk klinik, momentet Teoretisk förståelse". This is important so that you get the right exam or test. You can find all course codes in the course list on the Program Overview page, and you choose from the codes 3OP005-3OP012, which all refer to outgoing/discontinued courses belonging to 3OP08.

Re-registration on the Course

If you need to participate in compulsory educational components or practical exams, you need to be re-registered on the current course. For help with re-registration, contact the course administrator in good time before the course starts. If you only need to participate in a written exam or submit an assignment, you do not need re-registration at the time of writing (April 2024).

Access to Locked Course Rooms in Canvas

To access information and materials in Canvas, you must be re-registered on the current course, have an active student account, and be added to the Canvas room manually by the course administrator. For digital exams (from HT24 at the earliest), an active student account is required. If you need your student account, but it has been more than two terms since you were study-active, you likely need to reactivate your account; for support, contact Student-IT.
