Bachelor of Arts Soziologie (Hauptfach)

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Major) is a six-semester program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of sociological theories, methods, and applications. Admission

Admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Major) program is possible for the winter semester. The application period is from June 1 to July 15. The program is subject to admission restrictions.

Minor Subject

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Major) program includes a minor subject (45 LP) that can be chosen from a wide range of BA minor programs. The minor subject has its own study regulations, which describe the study content, modules, courses, and examinations.


Elective Area

To successfully complete the program, students must complete courses in the elective area (at least 14 LP). The elective area allows students to choose courses from other programs and faculties, as well as language courses from the language center and the Volkshochschule.


Practical Training

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Major) program includes a nine-week compulsory practical training that provides students with the opportunity to reflect on the theories and methods learned in the program in the context of professional practice. Foreign Study

The thesis is usually written in the sixth semester and has a processing time of 13 weeks.
