Your Application

Admission Requirements
- University degree: Applicants must demonstrate a first higher education degree that meets one of the following three criteria:
- in the Bachelor of Arts in Socioeconomics (BA) at the University of Hamburg or
- in a comparable interdisciplinary socio-economic degree program or
- in business administration, political science, law, social sciences, sociology, or economics.
- Proof of English proficiency: Applicants must submit informal confirmation that they have sufficient English language skills.
- Proof of proficiency in German (foreign students only): Good German language skills are required for the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Public and Nonprofit Studies.
Selection Criteria
If the number of applicants meeting the special admission requirements exceeds the number of places available for the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Public and Nonprofit Studies, the following criteria will be considered:
- Result of the first university degree (up to a maximum of 50 points);
- Result of the higher education entrance eligibility (HZB) or, if you studied without a high school diploma, the result of the entrance examination (up to a maximum of 16 points);
- Result of the final thesis if the thesis title has a focus on a public and/or nonprofit studies (up to a maximum of 16 points).
- A bachelor's degree, e.g., in Socioeconomics, that verifiably includes courses in public or nonprofit studies: Bonus points are awarded for a maximum of 3 courses passed in public or nonprofit studies, irrespective of grades.
