Geriatria
The School of Specialization in Geriatrics forms specialists who have acquired theoretical, scientific, and professional knowledge: of the care of the elderly patient in all its aspects; of the processes of normal and pathological aging and the condition of fragility and disability of the elderly; of demography and epidemiology of aging; of the pathophysiology, clinical aspects, and treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the elderly and major geriatric syndromes; of preventive medicine, rehabilitation, and palliative care for the elderly patient; of multidimensional assessment and intervention methods in the elderly in all nodes of the service network, also acquiring the ability to coordinate interdisciplinary intervention within the geriatric assessment unit.
The School adopts a Quality Policy that ensures the provision of training activities with an approach oriented to meet the needs of doctors in training, teaching and non-teaching staff, in a perspective of innovation and continuous improvement.
Since 2019, the School of Specialization in Geriatrics has obtained certification of its Quality Management System, in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standard, by an international certification body. The validity of the certificate is subject to annual surveillance and a complete review of the company management system every three years.
