Overview

The School of Specialization in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry forms specialists who have acquired theoretical, scientific, and professional knowledge, including related assistance activities, in the field of diagnostic-clinical pathology and laboratory methodology in cytology, cytopathology, immuno-hematology, and genetic pathology. Additionally, they must acquire the necessary competencies in diagnostic-clinical aspects of reproductive medicine and in the laboratory of sports medicine.

Objectives

Specialists must acquire competencies in the study of cellular pathology within the context of oncology, immunology, and immunopathology, as well as genetic, ultrastructural, and molecular pathology. They must also acquire theoretical, scientific, and professional knowledge for laboratory diagnostics on human samples related to hygiene and preventive medicine, environmental health control and prevention, occupational medicine, community medicine, forensic medicine, thermal medicine, and space medicine.

Quality Policy

The School adopts a Quality Policy that ensures the provision of training activities with an approach oriented towards satisfying the needs of doctors in training, teaching and non-teaching staff, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Certification

In 2020, the School of Specialization in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry obtained the ISO 9001:2015 certification for the implementation of the Quality Management System. The certification was issued by Quality Certification Bureau Italia and is subject to annual surveillance and a complete review of the management system every three years. In 2023, the School successfully underwent a renewal audit with TÜV AUSTRIA ITALIA S.p.A.

Didactic Regulation

The School has a Didactic Regulation that specifies the organizational aspects of the course of study, defined according to the indications of the Regulation of the Schools of Specialization of the health area with access reserved for graduates in Medicine and Surgery.
