The Master in Scienza e tecnologia del legno e dei prodotti legnosi is designed to form specialists at a high level in the wood industry. The proposed courses prepare technologists who have in-depth knowledge of wood material from its molecular structure to its processing and marketing. The objective, at the end of the training course, is that the student acquires advanced knowledge of wood material and a global vision of the challenges that characterize the entire sector, from the supply of raw materials to the evaluation of constructions in operation.


Program Description

The Master in Scienza e tecnologia del legno e dei prodotti legnosi is divided into 4 parts:


  • Part 1: Propedeutic part to ensure knowledge of the basic notions
  • Part 2: Study of wood material, supply, and degradation
  • Part 3: Processing, qualification, structural design, and marketing
  • Part 4: Three-month internship in a company

Target Audience and Job Opportunities

The Master in Scienza e tecnologia del legno e dei prodotti legnosi is aimed primarily at graduates in civil engineering, materials engineering, and earth sciences (forestry, agriculture, chemistry, physics, and biology), as well as architects and professionals interested in deepening and developing skills in the wood sector. The expert in wood technology will be able to evaluate the qualitative characteristics of wood from the forest or wood products from the first and/or second processing and choose the most suitable type of wood product for different applications.


Teaching Methodology

The Master in Scienza e tecnologia del legno e dei prodotti legnosi includes 60 CFU, of which 48 CFU are online teaching, organized into 3 modules. The lessons will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 pm to 9 pm, with 2-hour blocks (5-6:30 pm; 7-8:30 pm), and on Fridays from 9 am to 6 pm, with 2-hour blocks (9-10:30 am; 11 am-12:30 pm; 2-3:30 pm; 4-5:30 pm).


Admission Requirements

  • Frequency of at least 70% of the CFU provided is mandatory.
  • A final oral exam is scheduled for all courses.

Tuition Fees

The total tuition fee for the Master in Scienza e tecnologia del legno e dei prodotti legnosi is € 3,522.50, divided into two installments: € 2,222.50 (first installment) and € 1,300.00 (second installment).
