The University of Padua offers a Course in Reading and Literature for Children and Adolescents (0-18 years), which is an interdisciplinary training path among the most significant in the Italian landscape. This course prepares professionals who operate in formal and informal education contexts.

Program Description

The course offers a 360-degree training experience, with didactic proposals, methodologies, and learning tools useful in the world of school, extracurricular activities, cultural contexts, and social fields. The didactic design pays particular attention to international research orientations on children's literature and the sharing of laboratory experiences with reading educators, promoters, bloggers, booksellers, and specialized librarians.

• Theories and methodologies for promoting the design of experiences, activities, and environments for education in children's literature
• Educational paths for linguistic, cognitive, emotional-affective, and social development based on different literary genres and narrative forms
• Innovative projects for reading education in social and cultural contexts differentiated by age groups
• Seminars on current research topics and orientations, which vary from edition to edition

Assessment and Evaluation

The course includes two assessments:

1. An intermediate group project on a specific monographic path
2. A final individual project or report on a topic addressed during the course, focusing on a specific age group

• The course offers the possibility of a 100-hour internship (4 CFU), which can be carried out in different school and extracurricular contexts in Italy or abroad.
• A digital platform based on the Moodle learning management system will be used to support preparation and offer an innovative learning environment.
