Program Overview
Introduction to the Master's Program
The Master's program in Specialization in Methods and Practices for Strengthening Social Care and Accompaniment Paths is designed to equip professionals from various disciplinary backgrounds with new perspectives in public social work and in the Third Sector, particularly in areas of poverty reduction and social policies for children, adolescents, and families.
Program Structure and Calendar
The Master's program is organized by LabRIEF, Department FISPPA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies. The course provides the necessary tools for working in multidisciplinary teams within Territorial Social Ambits, implementing LEPS (Essential Levels of Social Performance). The program integrates diverse professional perspectives, acquires in-depth understanding of contemporary welfare policies and multidisciplinary work methodologies, applies person-centered, family-centered, and community-centered approaches, and promotes active participation of beneficiaries. It develops the ability to manage the complexity of social services using participatory evaluation and monitoring tools.
Educational Content
The Master's program adopts innovative methodologies to enhance the professional experience of participants and promote active and reflective learning. The objective is to offer the opportunity to critically analyze social service practices in light of the most recent theories and methodologies. The program is divided into three sections of unprecedented teaching:
- Lectures and teachings: The methodologies aim to challenge the tacit or preconceived knowledge of participants, promoting the conscious assumption of new perspectives and reasons for action.
- Laboratories: bridge between theory and practice: Represent a central and innovative element of the Master and are designed to connect theoretical learning acquired during lectures and professional practices – in progress in the ATS of origin of the participants – through critical analysis of case studies, debates, and progressive analysis.
- Project Work, catalyst for innovation for ATS: The final project work represents the culmination of the training path, configuring itself as a strategic tool to ensure a concrete impact of attending the Master on the territories of the ATS. Furthermore, it aims at the development of sustainable projects tailored to each ATS, integrating innovation, acquired skills, and territorial challenges.
Target Audience and Job Opportunities
The target audience of the Master's program includes employees with fixed-term or indefinite contracts of Territorial Social Ambits or Municipalities, operating in the social services sector with specific tasks/functions within multidisciplinary teams. It is addressed to professional figures who have a particular reference to activities related to phases of multidimensional evaluation, relative taking charge, and accompaniment in the context of personalized projects and/or social accompaniment. In particular, it is aimed at specializing multidisciplinary teams for the implementation of LEPS in the area of poverty reduction policies and social policies in favor of childhood, adolescence, and family.
