Photography and Digital Studio Option
The Photography and Digital Studio option is offered within the Art major in the College of Liberal Arts. This option concentrates on digital and traditional photographic processes and approaches as situated in contemporary art, as well as related technological arts such as video, sound, installation, and computer-based arts, preparing students for careers in the creative arts.
Overview
Art (BA/BS) majors taking the Photography and Digital Studio option may not take required art courses on an S/U graded basis. The following studio courses must be completed before taking upper-division studio courses for the major program:
- ART 101: Introduction to the Visual Arts (3 hours)
- ART 115: 2-D Core Studio (4 hours)
- ART 117: 3-D Core Studio (4 hours)
- ART 121: Digital Core Studio (4 hours)
- ART 131: Drawing Core Studio (4 hours)
Requirements
All students seeking a major or a minor must see a departmental advisor on a yearly basis. The requirements for the Photography and Digital Studio option include:
