Urban Forestry Graduate Certificate
The Urban Forestry Graduate Certificate is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in various urban forestry programs. Urban forestry involves the planning, planting, and management of trees and related vegetation in and around cities. It is an academic discipline related to forestry, horticulture, urban planning, landscape architecture, and land use planning.
Overview
Urban foresters work in municipal governments, non-profit organizations, other public agencies, and the private sector. The Graduate Certificate in Urban Forestry covers important aspects of program management, policy development, and leadership. The capstone study allows students to tailor the program to a particular interest within the field.
Requirements
Students complete 14 required credits and take one or two elective courses, resulting in a combined total of 18-20 credits depending on the electives selected.
