Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for the Master of Arts program are as follows:


  • For Masters by Coursework and Research Report: a bachelor's degree with honours from Wits or another university with a 65% total mark aggregate.
  • For Masters by Dissertation: a bachelor's degree with honours from Wits or another university with a 65% total mark aggregate, and a supervisor from the Faculty of Humanities must be identified and approached prior to application.

University Application Process

The application process for the Master of Arts program is handled centrally by the Student Enrolment Centre. Once the application is complete, it will be referred to the relevant School for assessment. Applicants can monitor the progress of their applications, and selections for programs with limited intake may only finalize the application at the end of the application cycle.
