Example of Training
Culturally aware work practices in immigrant work
The training was an apprenticeship-type continuing education, where learning was firmly tied to everyday work and the workplace actively participated in its organization. The training consisted of 10 days of face-to-face and senior teaching as well as guidance. The rest of the time we worked normally and at the same time worked on our own development tasks. The Moodle online environment was used in the training.
A total of 70 participants were taken to the training. The training was jointly organized by the University of Turku's education and development center Brahea, the University of Helsinki's education and development center Palmenia, the University of Eastern Finland's education and development service Aducate, the University of Lapland's education and development services and Centers för livslĺngt lärande vid Ĺbo Akademi och Yrkeshögskolan Novia. The training started in November 2010 on the regional next day. The project ended on 16 November 2011.
