Program Overview

Introduction to the Bachelor of Science with Honors in Mathematical Physics

The Honors in Mathematical Physics program offers students the opportunity to combine high-level mathematics with high-level physics. This program is designed to teach students how mathematics is fundamental to theoretical and experimental physics and how physical systems can be described and analyzed mathematically.

Why Study this Program?

By completing this degree, students will be well-suited to pursue graduate studies in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering. The program is also available as a BSc with Major.

Why Study a Bachelor of Science with Honors?

The Bachelor of Science with Honors is a degree program designed for students to receive in-depth training in a specific subject area. It is ideal for students drawn to scientific research. A research thesis project is embedded in each program, and students must maintain higher academic standards than those in a BSc Major degree. Students have the option to add a minor from the Faculty of Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences, although this will reduce the number of optional courses. A double major is not available in the Honors program.
