The University of the Punjab offers a Master of Business and Information Technology (MBIT) program.
Program Overview
The MBIT program is offered by the Institute of Business & Information Technology, Faculty of Business, Economics and Administrative Sciences. The program is spread over 3 semesters and a thesis/research project. Four courses are offered every semester, with two classes per course per week, each lasting 1˝ hours.
Assessment of Study Progress
Students' progress is assessed through formal examinations, quizzes, cases, projects, and home assignments. There are two compulsory examinations in each semester for each course: Mid-Semester and Final Examination. The dates for these examinations are announced well in advance. In addition to these exams, semester work comprising quizzes, class work, home assignments, class presentation, and class discussion is also carried out.
Award of Degree
To be awarded the MBIT degree, a student must:
- Pass courses totaling at least 36 credits from the given courses.
- Obtain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 or higher out of a maximum of 4.0.
- Pass the Comprehensive Examination given after the completion of course work.
- Successfully complete the Thesis or Research Project of 6 credit hours.
- Fulfill other requirements outlined in the rules & regulations section of the prospectus.

The program has a total of 36 seats, all of which are merit-based.
Duration
The program duration is 1 1/2 years.
Teaching System
The program follows a Term/Semester System, with 8 terms.

Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the MBIT program, a candidate must have a BBIT (4 Years) or equivalent degree from a recognized university and a CGPA greater than or equal to 3.00.
