Course Details
Developing Practice in Medical Education
Overview
This module aims to support students in developing their practice as teachers through critical reflection on the ways in which evidence, theory, values, and contexts interact.
Programme Details
This module is run over a twelve-week cycle, with the first week spent working on introductory activities using a Virtual Learning Environment, the second week spent in Oxford for face-to-face teaching, and four post-Oxford activities delivered through the VLE.

Assessment Methods
Assessment will be based on submission of a written assignment, not exceeding 4,000 words.
Academic Credit
Applicants may take this course for academic credit, earning 20 CATS points, which may be counted towards a postgraduate qualification.
Application
This course requires completion of the application form and attachment of a CV. If applying for academic credit, a reference is also required.
Selection Criteria
To apply, students should:
- Be a graduate or have successfully completed a professional training course
- Have professional work experience in the health service or a health-related field
- Be able to combine intensive classroom learning with the application of principles and practices of evidence-based health care within the workplace
- Have a good working knowledge of email, internet, word processing, and Windows applications
- Show evidence of the ability to commit time to study and an employer's commitment to make time available to study, complete coursework, and attend course and university events and modules
- Demonstrate English Language proficiency at the Universitys higher level.
