Essential Medical Statistics Course

Overview

This module is designed for health care professionals or graduate students who already have some research experience and an understanding of basic statistical principles, and who wish to develop their statistical expertise.

• Multiple logistic regression
• Survival analysis

Assessment Methods

Assessment will be based on submission of a written assignment which should not exceed 4,000 words.

Academic Credit

Applicants may take this course for academic credit, earning 20 CATS points.

Application

The course requires completion of an application form and attachment of a CV. If applying for academic credit, a reference is also required.

Selection Criteria

• Graduate or professional training course completion
• Professional work experience in the health service or a health-related field
• Ability to combine intensive classroom learning with application of principles and practices of evidence-based health care
• Good working knowledge of email, internet, word processing, and Windows applications
• Evidence of previous statistical knowledge
• English Language proficiency at the Universitys higher level
