Daily Schedule
The academic timetable runs from Monday to Friday each week, with a minimum of 46.5 contact hours, comprising:
- 24 hours of seminar meetings
- 22.5 hours of lectures
Meals and Special Dinners
All meals included in the program take place in Exeter College's dining hall and are self-service, with a range of options available.

Funding
Oxford Lifelong Learning is unable to offer any scholarships, bursaries, or reduction in fees for this summer school.
Payment
The program fee includes accommodation, meals, and activities. Invoices will be emailed to students, and fees may be paid online or by bank transfer.
Teaching Methods

Assessment Methods
Tutors will monitor and assess students' contribution to class discussions. Students are expected to submit an assignment of 2,500 words in length for each seminar taken.
Application
Applications for the undergraduate level strand will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until April 15, 2026. Graduate level applicants must submit a brief statement of purpose and meet the admissions requirements.
Enrolment
Students will be formally enrolled on the summer school once they have accepted their offer of a place. The enrolment process includes the issuing of invoices and payment of fees.

Immigration and Visa Requirements

Selection Criteria
The program is open to anyone aged 18 and over with an interest in serious engagement with English literature. Graduate level applicants must have an academic background in English literature or a related subject.
English Language Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate an appropriate level of proficiency in the four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. English language test scores may be required, and waivers may be available in certain circumstances.
Accommodation
Residential options are available at Exeter College, including single bedrooms with shared or private bathroom facilities. Non-residential students are responsible for finding their own accommodation.
IT Requirements
Although not required, most students bring a laptop to Oxford to assist them with their studies. Wireless internet access is available in communal spaces and bedrooms.
