Program Overview


International Summer Programme

The International Summer Programme allows students to create a personalized summer learning experience. With over 140 courses to choose from, students can search for topics or use filters to refine by week, number of sessions, or subject.


Programme Structure

  • The programme runs for four weeks, from July 12 to August 8.
  • Students can commit to one, two, three, or four weeks of study.
  • Courses are available in the morning and afternoon, and students must attend both morning and afternoon sessions.

Course Options

  • 5-session courses run over one week.
  • 10-session courses run over one or two weeks.
  • Students can choose from a variety of subjects, including:
    • Art and Visual Culture
    • Business, Entrepreneurship, and Finance
    • Creative Writing
    • History and Archaeology
    • Literature and Film
    • Philosophy, Ethics, and Religion
    • Politics and International Relations
    • Science and Social Science

Course Combinations

  • Students can select two short courses (5 sessions each) or one longer course (10 sessions) for each week of study.
  • For two consecutive weeks, students can mix and match short and longer courses.

Assignment and Credit Options

  • Students can submit assignments for evaluation, and their home institution will determine the number of credits awarded.
  • The University of Cambridge does not award its own credit for International Summer Programme study.
  • Examples of credit awards based on the US credit system:
    • Two weeks of the programme with an estimated 46 contact hours and a 2,000-3,000-word assignment submission: three undergraduate credit hours.
    • Four weeks of the programme with an estimated 92 contact hours and a 2,000-3,000-word assignment submission: six undergraduate credit hours.
