Introduction to Accountancy & Finance BAcc

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for the Accountancy & Finance BAcc program are as follows:


  • SQA Higher entry requirements: ABBB is the minimum requirement from S5 to be reviewed for an S6 offer.
  • SQA Higher adjusted entry requirements: ABBBB (MD20), AAABB (MD40).
  • A-level standard entry requirements: AAB BBB.
  • IB standard entry requirements: 36 (6,6,5).
  • English language requirements: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no subtests under 6.0, TOEFL 90 overall, Pearsons PTE Academic 59, Cambridge Proficiency in English 176 overall.

The BAcc program provides many career opportunities besides the accounting profession itself. The study of accountancy and finance is a firm foundation on which to base careers in business management and the financial services sector. Recent graduates have been employed by PwC, KPMG, Grant Thornton, Alexander Sloan, Cigna, Deloitte, Royal Bank of Scotland, Credit Suisse, EY, and Morgan Stanley.


Accreditation

The Adam Smith Business School has specialized international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The teaching provision is accredited by the Association of Business Schools and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). The program has also been awarded accreditation under the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), operated by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
