Introduction to the Scots Law (Graduate Entry) LLB Program
The Scots Law (Graduate Entry) LLB is a fast-track undergraduate degree available to graduates of any discipline, including Law. This two-year program provides a pathway towards professional qualification and is fully accredited by the Law Society of Scotland for entry into the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.

Optional courses cover topics such as Roman Law Of Property & Obligations 1, International Private Law Level 2, Labour Law, Public International Law, and International Private Law Level 2.
Entry Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent.

English Language Requirements
For applicants from non-English speaking countries, the University sets a minimum English Language proficiency level. Accepted English language qualifications include:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic and Academic Online: 6.5 with no subtests under 6.0
- TOEFL (ibt, mybest or athome): 90 overall with Reading 20; Listening 19; Speaking 19; Writing 21
- Pearsons PTE Academic: 59 with minimum 59 in all subtests
- Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall, no subtest less than 169
- Oxford English Test: 7 overall with no subtest less than 6
- LanguageCert Academic SELT: 70 overall with no subtest less than 60
- Password Skills Plus: 6.5 overall with no subtest less than 6.0
- Trinity College Tests: Integrated Skills in English II & III & IV: ISEII Distinction with Distinction in all sub-tests
- University of Glasgow Pre-sessional courses: accepted for 2 years following the date of successful completion
- School Qualifications: IGCSE English First Language, grade C; IGCSE English Second Language, grade A; A Level English, grade C; International Baccalaureate English A SL5 or HL5; International Baccalaureate English B SL6 or HL5; SQA National 5 English or ESOL, grade B; SQA Higher English or ESOL, grade C

Career Prospects
The flexibility of the law degree at Glasgow means that the LLB degree provides a sound general foundation for a range of careers, including the civil service, local government, journalism, industry and commerce, international institutions, administration, banking, insurance, social work, and the police service.
To qualify in Scotland, students must complete a one-year postgraduate vocational qualification: the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice, followed by a period of full-time training. To qualify in England & Wales, or other countries, additional examinations in the appropriate legal system must be passed.
Accreditation
This program is fully accredited to allow entry to the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice and the Scottish legal profession.
