Electronics & Electrical Engineering & Management MSc

The Masters in Electronics & Electrical Engineering & Management introduces students to contemporary business and management issues while increasing their depth of knowledge in their chosen speciality of electronics and electrical engineering.

Programme Overview

• The programme is taught jointly by staff from the School of Engineering and the Adam Smith Business School.
• Students benefit from combined resources and expertise and an industry-focused curriculum.
• The programme is designed for students with an engineering background but little management experience, who want to develop their knowledge of management while furthering their knowledge of electronics and electrical engineering.

Programme Structure

• There are two semesters of taught material and a summer session working on a project or dissertation.
• September entry students start with management courses, and January entry students start with engineering courses.

Semester 1

Students are based in the Adam Smith Business School, developing knowledge and skills of management principles and techniques.

Career Prospects

• Career opportunities include software development, chip design, embedded system design, telecommunications, video systems, automation and control, aerospace, development of PC peripherals and FPGA programming, defence, services for the heavy industries, etc.
• Graduates have gone on to work for companies such as TOTAL and OSCO SDN BHD.

Tuition Fees

• Home & RUK: Ł15,156 (full-time)
• International & EU: Ł34,470 (full-time)
• Tuition fees for January 2026 start:

Deposits

• International and EU applicants are required to pay a deposit of Ł2,000 when an offer is made.

Additional Fees

• Fee for re-assessment of a dissertation (PGT programme): Ł370
• Submission of thesis after deadline lapsed: Ł350
• Registration/exam only fee: Ł170

Entry Requirements

• 2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in any Engineering discipline, Computing Science, Physical Sciences, or Mathematics degree, with modules in Electronics and Engineering Mathematics/Mathematics at an average grade of pass.
• Extensive work experience may be considered in addition to academic content for those who fall just below the degree requirements.

English Language Requirements

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: 6.5 overall with no subtest less than 6.0
