Program Overview
The Graduate Certificate in K-12 Computer Science Education is designed to support educators in teaching computational thinking and computer science at the elementary and secondary levels. This program explores topics such as computational thinking, algorithmic thinking, abstraction, programming tools, and creative thinking, with a focus on culturally relevant pedagogy.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate in K-12 Computer Science Education, students will be prepared to teach computer science at the elementary and secondary levels. This graduate certificate can be completed as a stand-alone credential or as part of the Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program.
Career Outlook
This graduate certificate will build students' knowledge of computer science and support them in teaching computer science ideas at the elementary and secondary levels. Students will go beyond simply coding and explore how computer science impacts the world, as well as how computer science ideas can be used to solve problems creatively in other disciplines.

Admissions Requirements
To be accepted into this program, students must have:
- A bachelor's degree
- No letters of recommendation are required
- Official transcripts from all previous schools
Tuition & Fees
- In-State Tuition: $937.25 per credit
- Out-of-State Tuition: $1,181.25 per credit
