Introduction to the Master of Rehabilitation Technology Program
The Master of Rehabilitation Technology (MRT) program is designed to prepare graduates to become leaders in the field of assistive technology and to earn their credential as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). The program is offered in a hybrid format, combining online coursework with in-person immersions to provide valuable hands-on experience.
Program Overview
The MRT program is a 35-credit degree that can be completed in one year (full-time) or at the student's pace (part-time). The program includes two in-person immersions and a 240-hour clinical practicum/internship, which can be completed in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and community organizations.

Applied Skills and Curriculum
The program includes 100% online coursework, as well as in-person Deep Dive Immersions and a clinical practicum/internship. Students will gain hands-on experience and develop skills in assistive and rehabilitation technology.
Accreditation
The University of Pittsburgh Master of Rehabilitation Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendations of the Committee on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Education (CoA-RATE).
