Lifestyle Medicine (Graduate Certificate)
The Graduate Certificate in Lifestyle Medicine is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the field of lifestyle medicine. This interdisciplinary program combines the expertise of faculty members from the School of Medicine and various disciplines to prepare students to work as part of a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
Program Overview
The program takes a whole-person approach to designing, implementing, and modifying lifestyle medicine programs, exploring factors that impact an individual's health, including nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management. The curriculum is based on Creighton's Jesuit values, including care for the whole person and preventive medicine.
Program Details
- The program is a 15-credit online certificate that can be completed in about a year.
- Coursework can be applied to a Master of Science in Integrative Health and Wellness.

- Advanced Lifestyle Medicine
- Health Behavior Modification
- Nutrition for Chronic Disease
- Exercise for Chronic Disease
- Stress and Sleep Management
Faculty
The faculty within the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies come from diverse backgrounds, including business, health, education, law, and the arts and sciences. Their experiences and expertise provide graduate students with a robust interdisciplinary education.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants must:
- Complete an application
- Include an updated curriculum vitae or resume
- Provide an official transcript from the institution that granted the Bachelor's degree
- Submit a personal statement of interest in the graduate certificate
- A personal interview may be requested in addition to the above requirements
International Students
International students are welcome to apply, provided they complete the program from their country of residence. They must meet English language proficiency requirements.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition rates change annually. Financial aid is available, and students are encouraged to file the FAFSA to apply for assistance. Graduate student scholarships and fellowships are also available.
Dates and Deadlines
The program has rolling admission, with classes starting in August, October, January, March, and May. Once an application is submitted, it will be reviewed, and the applicant will be worked with to get into the next available class.
