Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN)
The Creighton University College of Nursing offers a 12-month Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program, one of the most successful and longest-running in the nation. With high NCLEX pass rates consistently exceeding the national average, this program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). It recognizes and builds on students' previous education and experiences, allowing those with at least a bachelor's degree in another discipline to earn a BSN degree in just one year.

Admission Requirements
General Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or higher in another discipline from an accredited college or university prior to the start date for the program.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Completion of prerequisite courses with a C (2.0) or higher prior to the start date of the program, including:
- 3 semester hours (or 4.5 quarter hours) each of general sociology, general psychology, developmental psychology, ethics, and statistics.
- 2-3 semester hours (or 3-4.5 quarter hours) of human nutrition.
- 4 semester hours (or 6 quarter hours) each of human anatomy or anatomy and physiology I, human physiology or anatomy and physiology II, general chemistry, and microbiology.
- Applicants must also have two of the following courses completed before the application deadline: general chemistry, human anatomy (A&P I), or human physiology (A&P II).
Additional Requirements for International Applicants
- Transcripts from accredited institutions outside the United States must be evaluated course-by-course by a NACES-approved credentialing agency.
- Official evaluations should be sent directly from the agency to NursingCAS or to Creighton University.
- Prerequisite courses must be successfully fulfilled before an I-20 can be issued.
- English Language Proficiency: TOEFL score of at least 100, IELTS score of at least 7, or Duolingo score of at least 120.
