The Next-Gen AgTeachers: Agriculture in the 21st century for Primary Teachers micro-credential is designed to improve primary and secondary teacher knowledge of modern agriculture and the digital capability required for work in agriculture. This micro-credential is part of a series of five, aimed at upskilling teachers in AgFoodFibre for the 21st century.

- Overview: This micro-credential provides a non-creditable micro-credential and digital badge which can be shared to social networks and displayed in a professional portfolio. It is aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Career Opportunities
Upskilling teachers' skill sets in agriculture will improve their future employment opportunities, particularly in regional and remote Queensland communities. Teachers will have a greater awareness and understanding of modern agriculture, including current technological advancements in the sector. Upon successful completion, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a non-creditable micro-credential (Digital Badge), and a Certificate of Completion.

- Define key agricultural terms and explain the importance of agriculture in providing food and fibre for society
- Identify the different types of agricultural production systems
- Identify and describe simple technological tools used in modern agriculture
- Discuss the benefits of using technology to improve productivity and efficiency in agriculture
- Integrate simple agricultural innovations into the classroom to enhance student learning

Requirements
- Entry Requirements: Participants must be a teacher, teacher aid, farm assistant/manager, career advisor, or studying to become a teacher.
- Availability: Micro-credentials are available for anyone to access, and it is not necessary to be a CQUniversity student.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the micro-credential, participants will have developed knowledge and skills necessary to teach agri-tech concepts and 21st-century agriculture skills and practices into a primary school teaching program. The program aims to improve teacher knowledge of modern agriculture and digital capabilities, enhancing their ability to integrate agricultural innovations into their teaching practices.
