Program Overview
Diploma of Music
The Diploma of Music is designed to develop musical knowledge and skills, preparing students for a career in music. This course allows students to focus on a broad range of music styles, including western art music, jazz, or contemporary music.
Overview
Students will have the opportunity to develop their solo music performance skills and receive specialist training in vocal or instrumental performance, composition, or singer/songwriting from highly specialized music staff. The course provides a variety of learning experiences, including performance tuition to develop solo performance skills and academic study in the interpretation and understanding of music.
Structure and Availability
The course structure and available locations can change depending on when students want to study. The course is available to study online and is supported through CQU's Regional Conservatorium partnerships.

Requirements
To be eligible, students must meet the following entry requirements:
- Audition and interview: Admission into music and theatre courses requires an application and an audition.
- Entry Requirements: View the Entry Requirements, including English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements for this course.
Fees and Scholarships
The indicative first-year fee is $9,536 (CSP). The course has Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) available, and domestic students may be eligible for a HECS-HELP government loan.
How to Apply
Students can apply through the Queensland Tertiary Admission Centre (QTAC) or directly to CQU. The application process involves checking course requirements, getting a Unique Student Identifier, submitting a QTAC application, registering for an audition, and preparing audition documentation.
