After being admitted to the program, students spend their first year completing 8 nursing prerequisite courses and First Year Seminar, including:

- Synthesis and Research Writing
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I

- Understanding Data Once accepted into the Nursing major, students begin three years of full-time nursing coursework and clinical experiences designed to build confidence, sharpen skills, and prepare for the NCLEX-RN.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission into the BSN program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Grade of C or better in all Nursing and prerequisite courses
- Minimum score of 58.7 on the TEAS entrance exam
- The TEAS exam must be taken in-person at an approved testing center
- The TEAS exam must be completed by May 15 of the year before program entry
- Spring semester courses must be completed by May 31
- Science courses must be taken within the last 5 years
- Annual criminal background checks are required for program entry and are also a prerequisite for licensure in New Jersey
Transfer Students
Bloomfield welcomes transfer students and works with them to ensure credit for previous work. Nursing coursework is reviewed by the Nursing Program Area Coordinator and faculty for transfer eligibility, and non-nursing coursework follows Bloomfields standard college transfer policies.
