Gifted and Talented Education Certificate
The Gifted and Talented Education Certificate is a fully online, 9-credit program designed for certified teachers who want to deepen their expertise in working with gifted students across grade levels. This program prepares educators to design instruction that meets the unique needs of advanced learners.
Program Description
The program explores theories of giftedness, methods for identifying exceptional learners, and strategies for differentiation that promote both academic growth and social-emotional development. Coursework covers curriculum design, assessment, and program development for gifted education, as well as ways to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Educators will also learn how to address issues of equity and access to ensure all gifted students have the opportunity to excel.
Program Format

- The flexible, asynchronous format allows educators to complete their coursework while continuing to teach full-time.
- The program consists of three, 7-week courses taken over one year.

- Students seeking an F1/J1 visa are not eligible for this certificate program unless they are currently pursuing a masters degree at Montclair State University and can simultaneously pursue both programs while maintaining their student visa requirements.
