Program Overview

Master in Geological Engineering

The Masters Degree Programme in Geological Engineering aims to train qualified professionals to address challenges related to:

  • the evaluation and exploitation of geological resources,
  • the assessment and mitigation of environmental impacts,
  • the acquisition and interpretation of geotechnical data. This programme provides solid and specialized training, enabling students to develop innovative and sustainable solutions, with the focus on solving real-world problems in the field of Geological Engineering.

Program Structure

Students can choose between two pathways:

  • Geotechnics
  • Georesources and Geoenvironment These pathways enable them to acquire advanced skills in areas such as:
  • Characterization, evaluation, exploitation, and sustainable management and efficient use of resources, including groundwater, mineral and energy resources, and soils
  • Geological and geotechnical studies applied to the development of engineering projects and the minimization of risks associated with building and infrastructure construction
  • Assessment and implementation of remediation measures in contaminated sites, including soils, sediments, surface water, and groundwater
  • Design of innovative technical solutions for the reuse of geological byproducts through the creation of new materials, based on a logic of efficient resource use
  • Development of strategies to mitigate geological and other risks
