Program Overview

The UNI STU 197A program, also known as UTeach Special Study, is a 2-unit course designed for students accepted to teach a UTeach course in the spring quarter.


Program Structure

  • Students enroll in Special or Independent Study with their faculty mentor during the preceding fall quarter to develop their detailed course syllabus.
    • Repeatability: The course may be taken unlimited times as topics vary.
    • Restrictions: The program is restricted to UTeach Program students only.

Program Requirements

  • The program requires students to work closely with their faculty mentor to develop a detailed course syllabus.
  • Students must be accepted to teach a UTeach course in the spring quarter to be eligible for the program.
