Course Notes

Important Course Notes

  • Non-standard Timetable Requirements: Prospective applicants are advised that there is an 'on call' component to this course, requiring students to provide Continuity of Care for ten women throughout their studies.
  • Clinical or Professional Work Placement Requirement: Students must complete 800 hours of nursing clinical practice and 720 hours of midwifery clinical practice.
  • Registration: All students must be registered as a student with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) prior to commencing their studies.

Attendance Requirements

Students will undertake clinical practicum during the hours laid down by their host clinical agency, which may include weekends and public holidays.


Clearances and/or Risk Management Protocols Required

To be eligible to undertake clinical practice, students must complete clinical practice orientation, risk management training, and obtain various screenings, vaccinations, and clearances as required.
