The Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science)/Bachelor of Commerce (Sport Business) is a double degree that combines the disciplines of exercise and sports science with business. This unique program is designed for students who are passionate about sports and want to pursue a career in the sports industry.
Course Overview
The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the sports industry, including the business and management aspects of sports. Students will gain knowledge and skills in areas such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, sports management, marketing, and finance.
Course Structure
The course is a four-year full-time program, with students completing 32 units of study. The course is divided into two main components: the Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) and the Bachelor of Commerce (Sport Business).
Majors
Students can choose to major in Sport Business, which provides a comprehensive understanding of the business and management aspects of sports.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Apply broad discipline knowledge to a range of exercise and sport science, and sport business theoretical and practical situations.
- Communicate exercise and sport science, and sport business knowledge, concepts and skills to diverse population groups.
- Demonstrate a global outlook in exercise and sport science, and sport business situations, showing sensitivity for diversity and impact, including Aboriginal cultural competence.
- Demonstrate appropriate social and ethical values by working cooperatively and collaboratively in exercise and sports science, and sport business settings.
- Demonstrate autonomy, accountability and initiative for own learning and professional practice in exercise and sports science and sport business settings.
- Think creatively to anticipate challenges and generate solutions in exercise and sport science, and sport business contexts.
- Think critically to analyse, interpret and solve complex exercise and sport science, and sport business situations.
- Use digital technologies and literacies to assess, evaluate and synthesise information from multiple sources.
Admission Requirements
- Academic admission requirements: 70 indicative ATAR, or equivalent.
- English language requirements: Year 12 English ATAR/English Literature ATAR grade C or better, or equivalent.
- ECU admission and English language requirements apply.
Fees
- Commonwealth supported: estimated 1st year indicative fee AUD $14,050.
- International students: estimated 1st year indicative fee AUD $40,700.
