Bachelor of Music Honours
The Bachelor of Music Honours course provides outstanding music students with an introduction to research, whilst also focusing on advanced professional and practical skills. This course prepares students for entry into the music profession as highly-skilled elite performers with a profound understanding of their art form. It also offers a stepping stone to further postgraduate study in music.

Entry Requirements
- ECU admission and English language requirements apply.
- For Edith Cowan University students: Completion of three years of a four-year Bachelor of Music (including all core units) with a course Weighted Average Mark of 70 or over, plus marks of 70 or over in all Principal Studies units and Music History units.
- For graduates of other institutions: Completion of a Bachelor of Music degree with a course Weighted Average Mark of 70 or higher. Additional requirements include auditions, submissions of a folio of original works, or interviews, depending on the specialisation.
English Language Requirements
- Year 12 English ATAR/English Literature ATAR grade C or better or equivalent
- Special Tertiary Admissions Test
- IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6.0)
- Successfully completed 1.0 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher in the UK, Ireland, USA, NZ, or Canada
- University Preparation Course
- Indigenous University Orientation Course
- AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree
- Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent)

- MUS4210: Research Preparation (30 credit points)
- MUS4220: Creative Project 1 (30 credit points)
- Year 1 - Semester 2:
- MUS4215: Research Project (30 credit points)
- MUS4225: Creative Project 2 (30 credit points)

BMus (Honours) graduates regularly gain employment with education institutions, arts-based companies, and are likely to enter the local, national, and international performing arts industries as performers and key arts workers. Possible future job titles include performer, musician, jazz, classical, composition, contemporary music, researcher, arts, government, and education.
