Program Overview


Master of Midwifery (Research)

The Master of Midwifery (Research) is a postgraduate degree that allows students to explore an area of particular interest and learn how to be an independent researcher under the supervision of leaders in midwifery.

Entry Requirements

  • ECU admission and English language requirements apply.
  • Academic admission requirements include a Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline or equivalent prior learning, including at least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • English language requirements include:
    • IELTS Academic with a minimum overall score of 7.0 and a minimum score of 7.0 in each of the three components of listening, reading, and speaking, and a minimum score of 6.5 in the writing component.
    • Occupational English Test (OET) with a minimum score of B in each of the three components of listening, reading, and speaking, and a minimum score of C+ in the writing component.
    • Pearson English Test (PTE) Academic with a minimum overall score of 66 and a minimum score of 66 in each of the three communicative skills of listening, reading, and speaking, and a minimum score of 56 in the communicative skill of writing.
    • TOEFL iBT or Cambridge C1 Advanced or Cambridge C2 Proficiency (refer to the School of Nursing and Midwifery Band 5 English Proficiency Band requirements for details).

Fees

  • Domestic students: The Australian Government's Research Training Program provides tuition fee offsets for domestic students who are enrolled in Higher Degree by Research courses.
  • International students: The estimated 1st year indicative fee is AUD $42,550.
