Master of Computing and Security by Research

The Master of Computing and Security by Research is designed to provide advanced, research-based studies in theoretical and applied areas of computing or security science. This degree aims to extend knowledge in the discipline area alongside knowledge of research methods in those areas of science.

Entry Requirements

• Academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of a Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline or equivalent prior learning, including at least five years of relevant professional experience.
• English language requirements include an IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5, with no individual band less than 6.0, or equivalent.

• Year 1 - Semester 1:
  • CSG6120: Research Proposal Preparation (40 credit points)
  • RES5115: Research Preparation: Principles and Approaches (20 credit points)
• Year 1 - Semester 2:
  • CSG6123: Master Research Preparation (40 credit points)
  • Elective Unit (20 credit points), selected in conjunction with the Course Coordinator
• Year 2 - Semester 1 and 2:
  • CSG6200: Master Thesis

• The course is available for 2 years full-time or part-time equivalent.
• It can be studied at the Joondalup campus or online.
