Doctor of Occupational Therapy (Dr. OT) Program

The Doctor of Occupational Therapy (Dr. OT) program is a post-professional degree program designed for occupational therapists who want to advance their careers and become leaders in the field. The program is offered online, with two courses per semester, and requires students to attend campus once a year for two to three days of intensive coursework.

Admissions Requirements

The admissions requirements for the Dr. OT program include:


  • A bachelor's degree or master's degree in occupational therapy from a regionally accredited college or university or internationally recognized university or university
  • Eligibility to practice within one year of initiating the program
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores (foreign applicants only)
  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate, professional, and graduate institutions attended
  • Confirmation of initial certification, or eligibility for certification, by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
