Introduction to the Dual Admission Program

The Dual Admission program at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) offers students the opportunity to earn both a bachelor's degree and a Doctor of Audiology degree in eight years. This program is designed for future audiologists, providing them with real-world experience and the latest technologies in diagnostic assessment, treatment, and management of auditory and vestibular disorders.

Program Overview

The Dual Admission Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program takes a total of seven years to complete, with candidates first following a four-year prescribed course of study in their undergraduate major. Students will receive the Au.D. degree after three full years of training with the audiology department.

Degrees Earned

Students can earn any bachelor's degree and their Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree.

Program Length

The program allows students to earn their bachelor's degree in four years and their doctorate in three years.

Interview Required

Students applying for dual admission must interview during Shark Preview, an exclusive admitted student event.

Deadline to Apply

The deadline for fall admission is February 1.

Eligibility

To be considered for Dual Admission, students must meet certain requirements.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

These requirements are for first-time in college students applying to earn a bachelor's degree. The requirements include:

• A weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher
• A minimum composite ACT score of 25 or a total SAT score of 1220
• Completion of biology, chemistry, pre-calculus or trigonometry, with a minimum of 3 years of math, 3 years of science, and 4 years of English
• Anatomy and Physiology, and Living Environment may be substituted for Biology

Graduate Admission Requirements

To remain eligible for the graduate or professional program, students must:

• Complete a bachelor's degree in any major
• Maintain a cumulative and science GPA of 3.2
• Earn at least 120 credits
• Complete prerequisite courses with a minimum grade of C

Additional Requirements

Transfer Credits Through High School

College credits earned through advanced high school programs may transfer to NSU. However, students are encouraged to take a majority of their specific science program pre-requisites at NSU.

Placement Information

A student's initial course placement in mathematics, science, or composition may impact the timing of the completion of all dual admission prerequisites and major courses.

Application Process

To apply for the Dual Admission program, students must:

• Apply for undergraduate admission using the NSU Application or the Common App
• Submit a supplemental Premier Programs application for fall entry
• Interview during Shark Preview if admitted to NSU and submitted the supplemental application

Program Details

The Dual Admission program is one of NSU's distinctive Premier Programs, designed to help highly motivated students accelerate their success. Students can apply for a combination of Premier Programs, including Dual Admission, Huizenga Business Innovation Academy, and Hochberg-Miniaci Razors Edge Scholars. Each program has its own eligibility requirements.
