Program Overview
The Master of Accountancy program is designed to equip students with the knowledge needed to successfully pass the CPA exam and prepare them for careers in public accounting, industry, banking, and other organizations, as well as for further study in doctoral programs or law school.
Program Details
The program strengthens the technical competency of students in specialized accounting fields, including auditing, taxation, and advisory services, as well as managerial accounting, internal auditing, and corporate financial accounting.

Plan of Study
The program leading to the Master of Accountancy degree consists of 30 credit hours (10 classes) of graduate coursework. The coursework is divided into three components: required classes, elective classes, and a capstone class. This plan of study is based on full-time enrollment for one year.

Admissions Requirements
All applicants seeking admission to the Master of Accountancy program must fulfill the Universitys general requirements for graduate admission at the Masters level. Additional requirements for admission into the program include:
- An overall grade point average of at least 3.0 on the applicants previous work beyond high school and a 3.0 in upper-level accounting classes
- Completed online application
- Statement of purpose (essay)
- Three letters of recommendation. If a student is requesting a GMAT/GRE waiver, all recommendations should come from upper-level Accounting faculty.
- Transcript(s) of all academic work attempted beyond high school
- Satisfactory test scores on the GMAT or GRE. Most applicants are able to have this requirement waived.
- Resume
- Possession of a U.S. Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
GMAT/GRE Waiver
Applying for a GRE/GMAT waiver is easy. Simply start the Charlotte Master of Accountancy application through Graduate Admissions, and follow five short steps. All GMAT/GRE waivers are at the discretion of the Master of Accountancy Program.

The MACC program admits students throughout the year on a rolling basis. Final application deadlines are:
- August 1 Fall Admission
- May 1 Summer Admission
Tuition + Fees
- North Carolina residents: ~$24,500
- Non-residents of North Carolina: ~$46,000

Tuition Assistance
The Turner School of Accountancy offers a significant number of program-based funding opportunities. The best opportunity for funding will require admission to the MACC program before the end of February.
