The School of Health Sciences offers a variety of academic programs, including:

Interdisciplinary Health Sciences
The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program offers a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Healthcare Systems, as well as undergraduate degrees in Nutrition/Dietetics, Health Sciences, and Interdisciplinary Health Care. Minors are also available in these areas.
Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences
The Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences program offers a Master of Science in Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences, as well as undergraduate degrees in Physician Assistant Science, Laboratory Sciences, and Imaging Sciences. Pre-Clinical Programs and Professional and Graduate Certificates are also available.
Human Movement Science
The Human Movement Science program offers a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Movement Science, as well as undergraduate degrees in Physical Therapy, Exercise Science, and Orthotics and Prosthetics. Minors and Professional and Graduate Certificates are also available in these areas.
Public and Environmental Wellness
The Public and Environmental Wellness program offers undergraduate degrees in Public Health, Environmental Health and Safety Management, and Wellness and Health Promotion. Minors and Professional and Graduate Certificates are also available in these areas.
Holistic Health
The Holistic Health program is a concentration within the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, offering a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree. The program focuses on lifestyle changes and self-care to promote wellness through diet, exercise, mental health, and spiritual awareness.
Curriculum
The Holistic Health program consists of a variety of health courses, including anatomy, health behaviors, ethics, and public health. Electives are also available to choose from, depending on career goals.
Experience-Based Learning
The OU Pledge provides experience-based and hands-on learning through participation in programs, student and professional organizations, research, and community engagement. Possibilities include the Community Health Engagement and Empowerment Research (CHEER) Lab and the ECLIPSE Leadership Initiative.
Career Information
The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Holistic Health can serve as a first step toward a wide variety of employment opportunities in health, including holistic health programs in large healthcare systems and private and clinical holistic care centers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects health care jobs to grow much faster than average for all occupations over the next decade.
Job Outlook
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects overall employment of community health workers to increase 14%, while employment of health educators is expected to increase 7%. The median annual wage for community health workers was $48,200 per year, and the median annual wage for health education specialists was $62,860 per year.
